If you’ve ever considered hiring movers Richmond Hill and relocating from Richmond Hill, then you should try out Mississauga, Ontario. For a start, they’re both in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) – the two municipalities are under 30 miles apart via car. This means if you move and want to head back to visit friends it isn’t a long journey. Thanks to the 403 and the 407 highways you can make the drive or take GO public transit without having to go through Metro Toronto. As such, you’d still enjoy the cultural diversities and affluence of Ontario that you’ve grown to love.
Will you make any more money? Not likely. Richmond Hill and Mississauga both make the MoneySense list of top 50 Ontario cities. Each have their own companies like Staples for Richmond Hill and Walmart and Pepsi/Frito-Lay for Mississauga.
Perhaps you ask: if the two municipalities are so similar, why then should you leave Richmond Hill? First off, you’re living your best years, won’t you like to try new things? Or go to a new place and make friends!
Still not convinced, eh? See more reasons why Mississauga is the place to be in Ontario below.
4 Reasons Why You Should Relocate from Richmond Hill ON to Mississauga ON
My Personal Reasons or Why Martin Is Making the Move
Working for Red Bull I wanted closer access to Toronto’s Pearson and John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport for Red Bull Air Races. When the F1 team calls I wanted closer access to the CNE grounds. Moving the Mississauga gives me both. I like the idea of heading down to the waterfront on Lake Ontario too. Last reason is that when I’m abroad it is a barrel of fun trying to watch people who aren’t from Canada try to pronounce the name.
Larger Population, More Job Opportunities
According to the recent 2017 census, Mississauga (at 828,854) is almost four times the population of Richmond Hill (at 208,370). So much so that Mississauga is the 4th most populous city in Canada. It’s a good middle step for those who want to live somewhere a little denser without going so far as moving to Metro Toronto. I still love my car and don’t want to give it up.
By population size, the modern, city-evolving suburb rubs shoulders with popular cities in the world such as Las Vegas and Zagreb (the capital and largest city in Croatia). Why is that import to you?
Populous cities draw business attention. Beautifully, Mississauga has the same appeal as one of the employment hotspots in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Mississauga boasts over 80,000 businesses. Incredible numbers, eh? Lots of businesses to connect with.
Furthermore, those businesses have been able to provide a job for over 400,000 residents. How about government jobs? Yet, there employment opportunities at health and educational institutions.
Do you have such opportunities in Richmond Hill? Indeed, the cost of living might be cheaper in Richmond Hill because of the lighter influx of people. Nevertheless, Mississauga offers more in terms of standard of living. How so? You have access to numerous jobs to cater to your needs and that of your family.
Average Household Income Vs. Real Estate
Say you eventually get a job in Richmond Hill; you will likely earn around the median household income of $88,535. Indeed, the value is higher than Mississauga’s at $83,018.
Nonetheless, you’d still need to get a house, own a car, and pay utilities. Let’s take housing first.
According to Zoocasa statistics, the average price of a house in Richmond Hill is $999,311. Outrageous figure! Mind you, don’t forget you still have to secure a job first in Richmond Hill.
On the other hand, the price of purchasing a home here in Mississauga is $683,819. Now, compare the two. Which is better?
In all, the cost of living in the both of the cities is pretty steep. Even at that, Mississauga’s is better than Richmond Hill’s if you only want to stay in the GTA.
One last note: even eating out in Richmond Hill is more expensive than in Mississauga (at least 2.5% according to Numbeo statistics).
Mississauga is as historical as Richmond Hill, and with more fun. Here you have over 480 parks to de-stress like never before.
About fun activities, in Mississauga, you have lots of options. That said, there’s one recreational facility that will astound you: the iFly. I haven’t talked to the Red Bull guys about this yet, but seeing if I can get the Red Bull team to get some skydivers on board they could get endless hours of practice skydiving at iFly.
Want to join me? Be careful who you call! There is a ton of moving companies Richmond Hill and they are not all movers are the same.
Global News reported recently that some fraudulent moving companies in the GTA were recently taken down.
Stick with who you can trust. For me that meant calling my favourite moving company in Richmond Hill, Mr Moving. They were one of the best office moving companies I’ve seen when they helped the company my daughter’s works for move from Richmond Hill to into a bigger building Vaughan.
You can even drive by the place to know they exist. They are just north of highway 7 and the 407. Here’s a map and address to show you where to go to get there. Tell them Martin sent ya!
